NOT-PROSESSENE® – NOT-PROCESSES are a combination of surface treatments applied to hotdipped steel as offered by Norsk Overflate Teknikk (NOT). Each of the three processes is a Duplex system, consisting of one or several treatments to the steel. The result is the highest corrosion classification for carbon steel in a broad range of colour combinations with high-performance finish.
Why opt for galvanization? Hot-dipping of steel offers excellent protection in its own right. It provides the most optimal rust protection and guarantees a long, maintenance-free lifecycle. It is simultaneously the cheapest steel finish on offer. The process causes the zinc to bond with the iron, forming a tough alloy coat that can last 50-100 years, depending on climate.
Extreme corrosion of steel In extremely corrosive environments steel needs additional protection to meet the stringent quality standards. Examples are special offshore structures, bridge components, fish-farming pens, yacht moorings and street furniture. Added protection is also indicated where components will be difficult to access. For all these reasons, optimal corrosion protection from NOT-PROSESSENE® is vital.
NOT-PROSESSENE® is a Duplex system offering a much extended lifetime relative to the finishes independently. The extended lifetime can be found from the formula:

LT = Duplex system lifecycle in years LZn = Zinc coat estimated lifetime in years in specific environment LM = Paint system estimated lifetime in years in specific environment applied directly to steel K = Synergy co-efficient, depending on environment, estimated as follows: 1.5 for system exposed to corrosion class C5 or permanently submerged in seawater 1.6 – 2.0 for exposure to corrosion class C3 – C4 or submerged less than about 60 % of time 2.1 – 2.3 for exposure to corrosion class C2.
